Owli Incubation Centre, is a strategic, multi-functional community hub aimed to foster innovation, education, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion, the Centre will be a transformative space where youth and women are empowered through training, access to digital tools, and hands-on economic activities. The project supports the implementation of Owli’s Community-Driven Development (CDD) programs and will serve as a model for community collaboration and scalable impact.

We are committed to bridging socio-economic, education, technology, and inclusivity gaps to advance equality and create opportunities for all.

Employment Gap

Youth unemployment remains a critical challenge in Kenya, with an estimated 65% of young people unable to access stable employment. This crisis is fueled by limited skills training, inadequate career pathways, and a mismatch between education and market needs—leaving millions of youth economically excluded and vulnerable.

Bridging digital Gap

Over 80% of youth in underserved communities are excluded from the digital economy due to limited access to technology and digital skills. Bridging this gap is essential to unlock opportunities, promote innovation, and ensure inclusive participation in today’s digital world.

Addressing Education barriers

Nearly 45% of children in underserved areas receive poor-quality education, driven by a lack of essential learning materials, inadequate nutrition, and food insecurity. These barriers severely impact learning outcomes and long-term development.

Strengthening Governance and Mentorship

Strengthening governance and mentorship is key to promoting inclusivity among girls and Kenyan youth. By fostering accountable leadership and providing supportive role models, we empower young people—especially girls—to participate fully in civic, educational, and economic spaces.

Research and Collaborations

At the heart of our work is a strong commitment to evidence-based solutions. We have actively participated in a number of impactful research projects that inform our programs and community engagement strategies.

One of our flagship collaborations is the Drivenet Kenya project, supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) in partnership with the University of Bournemouth, which explores innovative approaches to youth empowerment and digital transformation in Kenya.

We have also contributed to several research initiatives on career development and youth livelihoods, including partnerships with Reimagine U, University of Surrey portugal, Kenyatta University Youth Enterprise, and the University of Maryland, where we supported the development and piloting of the Development Ethics Toolkit aimed at strengthening ethical practices in global development programs.
