OVERVIEW
Kenya has faced numerous changes in technology for the past twenty years, which has increased the availability of the Internet, increased the amount of Internet activity among children, and expanded the age range of Internet users. Kenyan Children are in danger while in their own homes like never before. Dangers such as cyberbullying, sexting, identity theft, religious and terrorist radicalization are hidden dangers in a virtual minefield. Children are also at risk of damaging their online reputation that will prove to be costly in the future, if they do not learn how to avoid these dangers. The purpose of owli online safety research is to evaluate the Internet safety education for children in schools to determine if they are adequately preparing children for the online world.
